Summer is without a doubt the time of year that we associate with concerts in the park. The evenings are warm, the kids are out of school, and you feel like if you aren’t eating picnic-style on a lawn somewhere then really you’ve wasted a good meal. Luckily, both The City of Orange and Chapman University have some amazing Summer concerts lined up for us. The fun starts at Hart Park in just a few weeks! So who’s ready to sit back, relax, turn off the radio and listen to some live entertainment?

Concerts in the Park At Hart Park:
In what has become a community tradition, the yearly series of free concerts brought to you by The City of Orange invites locals to gather under the trees at Hart Park, connect with their neighbors, and enjoy the sounds of summer music together. The free concerts take place every Wednesday night from June 24 until August 12. From 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Hart Park Band Shell will be rocking out with Big Band, Motown, and a whole summer’s worth of musical entertainment. They encourage blankets, low lawn chairs, and picnic baskets, though pets and alcohol are not allowed. There will be food available for purchase on site. 2015 Summer Concert Series At Chapman University:
The public is invited to the beautiful Chapman University campus to enjoy the Fahmy Attallah Piazza and these FREE, crowd-pleasing, family-oriented LIVE performances on the Wells Fargo Stage. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics and join the fun! The campus is open for picnicking at 5 p.m. Barbecue grills are prohibited on the Chapman University campus. There’s free parking in the Lastinger Parking Structure under the stadium for summer concert attendees! Bring your own picnic! For more information, call (714) 744-7677.
The first concert will be held on Friday, July 17. Treat yourself to the magic that happens when the award-winning band “Sligo Rags” combines bluegrass, traditional Irish tunes and pop for a unique sound with just a wee bit o’ attitude. They’re two-time winners of the Orange County Music Award for Best Folk Band and regular players at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. For a preview click HERE.
The second concert will be held on Friday, July 31. The ever-popular “Alley Cats” will take you back to the early days of cool with timeless doo-wop classics and zany banter.
